The Grand Cru Kaefferkopf is situated on one of the most beautiful knives in Ammerschwihr; facing south and west, the subsoil is made up of granite, limestone and sandstone. It produces elegant wines of great finesse.
Vinification of Grand Cru Kaefferkopf
The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. The grapes are gently pressed and the juice is clarified naturally at low temperature. Fermentation is slow and ageing on fine lees for a minimum of 9 months gives the wine the richness and intense, complex expression of the world's greatest white wines.
Its colour is an intense golden yellow. The only blend authorised in the Alsace Grand Cru appellation, Kaefferkopf develops and intense bouquet of flowers and ripe fruit, exotic fruit and mango. The wine is exceptionally concentrated on the palate, with notes of exotic fruit and spices. The subtle blend of Kaefferkopf expresses itself in all its originality.
